RE: Has anyone regretted going bigger?

Ask Dolly Parton. I don't think she has regretted a minute at all.

RE: HWH LEVELERS

After spraying with water, the WD (water displacement)-40 helps rid the water, wiping it down eliminates the wd40. WD40 is not a good lubricant.

RE: Hydrualic Motorcycle lift

Billarf, thanks for the formula. I had an Overbilt given to me. I have a 35' mh, gas. I knew i was edgy, but went to the welder to check. He took one look and said no way. Formula better way for checking. '
As another said about tag's. This can help a lot, but tags on gas coaches were there to support the existing weight, not to give excess capacity.
Look at the mid 90's Pace arrow with a TAG. If you see one at an RV dealer, go in and check the weight paper, usually a closet. Look at the Net Carry Cap.
My solution will be a car dolly that can carry the bike on the front. They run about $4k. If I had a pickup truck, I would flat tow and load bike in back.

RE: How to filter water coming from hose

That is still really an inline. Whole House ought to also filter the water from the tank. I think a proper whle house would be difficult to install as a retro-fit. Have to break into the plaastic hose. Some need special tools for crimping.

RE: check this sale out too good to be true???????????//

I may be mistaken, but I believe that the Coachmen Freedom Road class C is a 'store brand' for CW made by Coachmen. The fact no other dealers sell these allows CW to tell Coachmen what the MSRP will be. Lets face it, a 31' C by Coaachmen for over 100k? Not likely, but it gives them the opportunity to sell them at 41% off. Or about 10% off what they ought to be listed at.
Ever look at appliances where they will guarantee you the best price, they will beat competitors for the same model? Well many of these are made for that store line, the model number will be something like a MD31a-ag every other store will have the same whatever with the model being a MD31a-AE or some similar variation. Therefore you can't get THAT model for less.
Very clever. very clever indeed.

RE: check this sale out too good to be true???????????//

It did say prices too low to list. If you want the logic here it is. The percentage is a calulation based on entry in a form, hence, screw up the decimal point and the percentage is calculated and posts.
The heading mentions up to 50% savings.
Doubt they would have missed the opportunity to post 94% in the heading.
MSRP's? Not sure, but the Chateau looked about right, just the fact it is never sold at that price has to be remembered.

RE: Un-desireable campsites ...

I find it interesting that the OP has not come back to clarify, or comment. Also his rig is a Beaver monaco? Monaco is parent company of Beaver, but not a model. Maybe a typo?
When we first started campingwe went to my aunt & uncles favorite place. They were seasonal, got the camper moved in and it never left. Place had frides on pallets under canopy. Wood bins etc. We vowed to only go there to visit not more than once a year. Definite turnoff for us. Granted,, it helped keep the place afloat, but probably 50% were seasonal. On the seasonal side of things, it was a place where their friends were. Lake, fishing, golf nearby etc. Kids made lifelong friends there. Ws it bad? For transients maybe, but the folks that loved it? It was wonderful. In fact my uncle passed away years ago, but aunt kept going and met her latest 'friend' there.
As to transients, or travelers, still essentially our preference. However, we are permanent residents in an RV Resort. Live in park model and our class A is in storage couple 100' behind house. We don't go here with the MH, just use it as a base.
No fridges on pallets here though.
So, OP Original Poster, 2ndhom, what model Beaver is it? (not that it matters, just checking), Whhat do you think of how your question has been answered? Any comments?

RE: Are you using that cd changer in your rig?

iPod for us. With over 2300 songs, hit song shuffle and you have your own radio station. Want a particular song? No problem, your own station with requests!
My issue withthe changers, you are limited to 6 or 10 or whatever cd's. Decide on some other CD and it is hassle time.
For extra sace in the freezer we removed the ice maker.

RE: Coachmen Cruise Master?

Tiffin. Coachmen does not have the best record, especially on warranty work. The fact they are dropping the line this year does not bode well.
Stick with the Tiffin.

RE: What gassers support a motorcycle carrier

As mentioned before, the issue is the overhang. I have about 12' behind my axle to the bumper. My frame doesn't extend that far. Real bummer, I got a nice lift for next to nthing, and couldn't use it.
Look at the disel rear axle and the distance to the rear, plus your engine support is at the back. This configuration will usually support the bike.
a good lift is a 2 point, at the ends. A new receiver is welded in at each end to fit into. Don't use the hitch reciver.

Cruise Control rough

My Dad just told me his RV works fine in driving, but in cruise, when in hills, and in a downshift situation, the engine runs very rough, sould like about to stall etc.
Sounds to me like a vacuum leak, messing with the downshift, upshift. He wants this fixed before he heads back south, hopefuly an easy one. Workhorse chassis. Any ideas? Similar situations resolved?

RE: The Undertaker--Motorcycle trailing system

Turns, the bike is pivoting on the head tube, I don't think that is an issue, the front end stays inline with tv.
As to the rear tire and trans, that is my issue. Tires that run out in 10,000 miles don't need non riding miles on them.
I have an enclosed trailer for carrying. Can be backed, is a great garage when I get to destination, and with lighting etc, is a nice workshop.
This unit is $329, certainly on the inexpensive side, but all things considered, watch the local ads for a ramp trailer.
Best purpose is coming to get the stranded rider, so long as the stranding isn't a flat rear tire!

RE: Alfa Soo Long Quality To Buy or Not

Alfa owners are pretty loyal bunch. Until they have had enough, then they get dropped. Being in the UK the company being thre or not doesn't make much difference, but all in all, I would steer away.
I used to be in the RV biz, when I had a customer with an Alfa I knew the trade would be ugly, we usually auctioned the Alfas, they didn't sell well on our lot.
What does all this mean to you? If you like it, the floorplan, the price and accept the drawbacks which have been pointed out, go for it, but be aware, if you can get it cheap, expect to trade it cheap.

RE: Still looking and bidding

Interesting thing happened and was explained on another forum. Guy won the bid on a 'new' (never been titled) I think 06 5th wheel, seller did not out in reserve price, he won an MSRP 37k (?) for 15K (numbers approx but close), I guess invoice was about 29k. Dealer made up a story and said it couldn't be sold. Buyer went public, dealer relented. It was quite a soap opera!
Good luck with your bidding. Here is where the online pricess is tough. If you go to a dealer with a sales consultant that knowes what he is talking about, he can guide you to what you want without these false starts. You are in the coach, where pictures don't lie.
Pictures are tough, they just don't show it all, no matter whether it looks as bad as it is, or as good as it is. They are not 3 dimensional.

RE: Opinions Wanted

I'll echo the Coachmen sentiment. I would look at other brands.
Aside from that, I see you have a wing, if you want to put on a lift for the bike, stick with the diesel.
